Hellerwork is an integrated physical therapy approach to realigning the musculoskeletal system to restore natural balance and posture.

The embodiment of emotions, contributes to our physical state encompassing the inseparability of body and mind.

It is a preventive body maintenance program for everyone, not just those with pain. Although it can be effective for relieving pain and tension, these are symptoms, and usually the result of an overall pattern of imbalance occurring in the body. In this state we rigidify and become injury prone.

Rather than treating these symptoms, Hellerwork focuses on rebalancing the entire body, restoring structural integrity and effective biomechanics.

Erika Murphy: professional Hellerwork practitioner

Erika was born and raised in Hawaii where she received her early education and later moved to California with her parents where she finished her Master Degree in Deaf Studies. Alternative healing methods were always an integral part of her health care so it came very easily to her to consider the healings arts professionally, after discovering a knack for massage therapy while attending Santa Monica Massage School.

"I always respected body work, but I'd never thought of it as a career possibility".

Becoming more serious about career, she found the California Hellerwork Training took her in a more academically lucrative direction. Since she got certified in 1996 as a Hellerwork practitioner, she has worked with MDs, chiropractors, acupuncturists and massage therapists. Her practice has taken her as far away as India where she lived and worked for one year. She now currently works in Santa Monica California.
